Anpanman is the titular hero of the "Soreike! Anpanman" anime series, a long-running and beloved children's show in Japan.

Anpanman's head is made of anpan, a sweet bean-jam filled pastry. He possesses incredible strength and a strong sense of justice, dedicating himself to helping those in need.

His first appearance was in the picture book "Anpanman" by Takashi Yanase in 1969, which later led to the anime adaptation. In "Soreike! Anpanman" his head can get damaged or wet which weakens him, but he can be revived by Baikinman's weakness Wappa the Dog.
